What is it that you get from camp as a staff member? At Gwynn Valley there are many ways to develop skills that will apply directly to your course of study and future career. We frequently sponsor college credit through an internship experience for our staff studying recreation, education, and culinary arts. There are also opportunities for many more fields (photography, videography, marketing, etc), so if you’re curious give us a call!

… All this and more will happen to you! Some of our staff spend a summer working with children and it literally becomes a life changing experience. Camp can open doors that expose you to so much more because of the connections to children and peers in our camp community. Over the course of the summer you’ll be working with about 135 other adults and about 1200 campers who will come through our gates. Camp is a place where you are constantly provided opportunities for positive interaction with those around you. Not too many years ago you were a child and I’m sure you remember those adults who had a profound affect on your young life. Now keep in mind we’re not out to make your parents pay out another 2 years in college tuition so you can change your major to elementary education … However, the camp experience is something that opens doors as it exposes you to so much more than waiting tables at a restaurant or leaning on a shovel all summer long might be able to do!
“I am grateful for everyone I interacted with at this magical place. That you to each one of you who contributed to me finding happiness again. I’m grateful that I had such an amazing family this summer. I cannot remember the last time I have been this happy. Thankful for waking up here every morning. For each pink cloud that made up each sunset. For every petal on every flower. For great stargazing spots. For every inch of this camp.“
