Mary Gwynn hosts the first Nature Institute at Gay Valley which trains counselors to teach natural science in camps and other youth groups. The training is available to all interested in attending and provides a trip to Pisgah and the Smokies. Specialists in birds, plants, stars and camping lead sessions for attendees.
1954
“Gay Valley Camp Having Most Successful Season This Year” published in the Transylvania Times July 1st, 1954. Camp reports 45 staff members and 110 camper enrollments for the summer.
